MiEx: A modern Minecraft Exporter

MiEx is a modern Minecraft World Exporter written in Java that exports worlds into USD (Universal Scene Description), originally created for use by Bram Stout Productions to help create sets for animations. It has also been used for animations in Minecraft Live and Element Animation videos.

Universal Scene Description

  • MiEx exports worlds out into USD so that it can be loaded into most programs.
  • Exports worlds out into big chunks that are payloaded into your scene, allowing you to choose what parts of the world are loaded in, so that it wont slow down your computer.
  • Ability to export certain blocks as a new instance for each occurrence of the block, making it easy to replace a specific block with a rig version of it.
